Umedia is a vertically integrated film group with more than a 100 employees, based in Brussels, Los Angeles, Paris and London and that combines activities of international movie development, production, financing, VFX and Finishing. Umedia had already invested more than 500 million euros via the Belgian Tax Shelter and has contributed to more than 300 films and series. In order to continue the IT department development, Umedia is looking for a TECHNICIEN SYSTEM JUNIOR, starting January 2017 in our Brussels offices.   • Installing and configuring computer hardware operating systems and applications: – following procedural documentation – report and escalation any issue
  • Talking to staff or free-lance through a series of actions, either face to face or over numeric solution to help setup systems or resolve issues
  • Troubleshooting system and network problems; diagnosing and solving hardware or software faults – Replacing parts as required – Written instructions to repair a fault or set up a software – Escalation any issue to third parties if unsolved
  • Providing efficient helpdesk and support – Prioritizing and managing many open cases at one time – Working continuously on a task until completion – Escalation any issue to third parties if appropriate – Logging all employee queries
  • Updating of the work stations system
  • Rewriting of IPtables rules
  • Samba 3 to Samba 4 migration
  • Updating self-help and internal IT documents
  • Keep IT inventory up to date
  • Keep support software database up to date
  • Redirect any query on infrastructure, upgrades or policies to IT manager
  • Report any environment risk to manager
  • Be respectfully of planning – Some interventions will be done before or after employee oncoming – To limit a project downtime, a week-end will be used to major work
  • Respect policies and process
  • Keep the NODAL and IT controlled room clean and safe
  • Assist higher level technician to performing specifics jobs duties
  • Working in the tight project specifications – Respect timetables
  • Preparing reports, manuals and other documentation on the status and operation

You are reliable and deliver your work on time. You are proactive and have a team spirit. You are rigorous and pay close attention to detail. You speak very good English and French. Knowledge of Linux is essential for this post (CentOS, Red Hat and Debian).
