Three Umedia coproductions awarded in Cannes!

This year, five Umedia coproductions were presented in the official selection. Among those five productions, three were awarded!

  • Best Director Award – La Passion de Dodin Bouffant

Back in 1993, Trần Anh Hùng was awarded the ‘Camera d’Or’ for his first feature « L’odeur de la papaye verte ». 20 years later, the director is once again awarded, this time with the ‘Best Director Award’ for his movie “La Passion de Dodin Bouffant“. This historical and culinary drama produced by Curiosa Films and Gaumont features French actress Juliette Binoche as well as French actor Benoit Magimel.

  • Un Certain Regard Prize – How to have sex

In 2020, British director Molly Manning Walker had already made a big impression on the Croisette where she presented her short movie “Good Thanks, You?” at the ‘Semaine de la Critique’. This year, she was awarded the ‘Un Certain Regard Prize’ for her first feature “How to have sex“, produced by Wild Swim Films.

  • Ecoprod Award – Acide

This year again Ecoprod shed the spotlight on movies selected at Cannes and produced in an eco-friendly manner. Among the three Umedia coproductions nominated for this prize, it is Just Philippot’s new feature “Acide” that got awarded. Guillaume Canet and Lætitia Dosch both star in this disaster movie produced by Bonne Pioche and Pathé with the support of Wallimage.

Congratulations to everyone involved in the making of these movies!
