To reinforce our team, Umedia is looking for a Digital Matte Painter to join our studio in Brussels.

Your tasks & responsibilities

• You contribute to the realization of visual effects on live action films and series by creating photo realistic matte paintings to combine with other VFX on the projects
• You meet deadlines while retaining a high quality of work
• You are familiar with pipeline issues
• You propose artistic and technical solutions for the project and have good problem-solving skills
• You work as a team member and communication with a supervisor of a sequence

Skills required

• Previous relevant experience as DMP in a VFX “realistic” environment (not “animation/cartoon”)
• Great deal of realism, as your work is intended to be featured in VFX for live action projects
• Extensive knowledge of matte painting techniques including color space, digital paint and photo realistic collage techniques
• To be skilled in photography with an accent on compositing, depth, live interaction and color
• Working knowledge of Nuke and Photoshop
• Knowledge of Maya is helpful
• Ability to manage priorities and bring multiple within a deadline
• Be patient and able to concentrate for long period and pay attention to detail
• You have excellent communication skills and you are a good team member
• You are rigorous and detail-focused
• You are eager to learn and develop professionally
• You are fluent in English (French and/or Dutch is an asset)
• You live in Belgium or you are willing to relocate in Belgium
