Over 8.5 Million Viewers for The Count of Monte Cristo!
Huge success for The Count of Monte Cristo!
After an exciting premiere at the Cannes Film Festival in 2024, the gripping story of Edmond Dantès (played by Pierre Niney) captivated no less than 8.5 million viewers in France alone.
Arrested on his wedding day for a crime he did not commit, Edmond Dantès sees his promising life suddenly taken away from him. After escaping from the prison where he was held captive for 14 years, he decides to seek revenge under a new and mysterious identity: The Count of Monte Cristo.
Beyond its amazing performance at the box-office, the success of The Count of Monte Cristo appears as evident, as its release has simultaneously boosted the sales of Alexandre Dumas’ 1844 eponymous novel. The film will soon travel overseas as it is now set to hit the American theaters later this year.
Umedia is proud to have coproduced this Pathé Films and Chapter 2 production and to witness the feature receiving the acclaim it deserves. With some impressive aquatic scenes filmed in the Belgian studios “LITES Studios” and “Water Stage Belgium”, we would like to once again congratulate the teams and technicians involved in this ambitious project!
