Four Umedia Coproductions Presented at the Angoulême Francophone Film Festival

This summer, four of our co-productions will be presented as premieres at the Angoulême Francophone Film Festival.

In official competition, we find Le Gang des Amazones and Sans Pitié:

🔸 Le Gang des Amazones, directed by Mélissa Drigeard, stars Lyna Khoudri and Laura Felpin. Inspired by true events, the film tells the story of five childhood friends who, in the early 1990s, robbed seven banks in the Avignon region. This female-driven drama, produced by Cheyenne Federation, will be released in theaters on November 25, 2025.

🔸 Sans Pitié, shot in Belgium, is directed by Julien Hosmalin and produced by Same Player in co-production with Les Films Du Worso, What the Films, and Let Me Be. With Adam Bessa in the lead role, the film immerses us in the world of a small fairground, where two brothers, Ryan and Dario, share a childhood marked by a traumatic event.

Twenty years after Dario’s mysterious disappearance, the reunion of the two men reopens old wounds. When one of the former kidnappers resurfaces, the line between revenge and forgiveness becomes more fragile than ever.

In a world premiere, Adieu Jean Pat, a sweet and quirky comedy directed by Cécilia Rouaud, will also be presented.

Hakim Jemili plays Étienne, who, just as he’s about to fully commit to Alice, begins to have doubts: what if he missed out on the life he was meant to live? To find out, he decides to reconnect with Magali, his childhood sweetheart, by calling Jean-Pat, his former rival… but Jean-Pat dies during the call. Étienne suddenly finds himself, unwillingly, in charge of organizing the funeral of his worst enemy. Produced by Les Films Sur Mesure and SND, the film will be released on September 17, 2025.

Finally, C’était Mieux Demain by Vinciane Millereau will close the festival. Starring Elsa Zylberstein and Didier Bourdon as a 1950s couple catapulted into 2024—she breaks free, he unravels… the clash of eras promises to be delicious! This production by Les Films du 24 will be released in theaters on October 8, 2025.

We are delighted, as a Belgian co-producer, to see Umedia films shine internationally. It is with great pride that we congratulate all the teams for their remarkable work!
