Five Umedia co-productions will be presented at the French Film Festival of Angoulême

We are proud to announce that five Umedia co-productions have been selected at French Film Festival of Angoulême which takes place from August 24 to 29. Let’s have a look on those projects:

🔸 “Le lièvre” is selected in the “Premieres” category.

Ian decides to participate in a clandestine race where participants run until exhaustion and where stopping is like signing its death warrant. This adventure is going to make him push himself and confront his past wounds

A film directed by Gonzague Legout and produced by Bright Lights Films and Same Player, in co-production with Umedia, Kiss Films, Particles Film and Kobayashi Prod.

“Le lièvre” is scheduled to be released in theaters on September 23rd, 2026.

🔸 “Love lessons” is selected in the “Premieres” category.

Emile, a teacher who just retired (embodied by Fabrice Luchini) decides to live according to love and literature lessons he taught his students his whole life after discovering his wife has left him. 

A film directed by Martin Provost and produced by Les Films du Kiosque in co-production with France 3 Television and Umedia.

“Love lessons” is scheduled to be released in theaters on November 25th, 2026.

🔸 “Goodbye cruel world” is selected in the “First meetings” category after being selected as the enclosing movie of the Critics’ Week of Cannes in May 2026.

Otto (Milo Machado-Graner), 14, disappears after writing a farewell letter to its classmates. Everyone thinks he is dead but one night, Lena, one of his classmates, seems to catch sight of him walking down the streets.

A film directed by Felix de Givry and produced by Remembers, Iliade et Films and Arte France Cinema, in co-production with Umedia.

“Goodbye cruel world” is scheduled to be released in theaters on September 9th, 2026.

🔸The TV series “Le Rouge et le Noir” is selected in the “Events” category after having been screened in premiere at CANNESERIES Festival this year.

Adapted from the eponymous book of Stendhal, this series recounts the upward social mobility of Julien Sorel, an ambitious son of carpenter, embodied on screens by Victor Belmondo. Torn between its religious vocation and a military carrier, its heart will also split as he is in love with two women who have nothing in common.

A series directed by Gael Morel and produced by Siècles Productions, in co-production with Be-FILMS and Umedia for France Television and RTBF.

The episodes are available on RTBF La Trois since June 2026 and will be on screens in France in September 2026.

🔸 “Ducobu et le fantôme de Saint-Potache” will be presented during the Mega screening at Carat on August 26th.

Professor Latouche and Miss Rateau move into a house… haunted by the ghost of Anatole, the biggest dunce in the history of Saint-Potache School. This prankster ghost will lead Ducobu, Léonie, their parents, and Kitrish into a series of adventures that are as funny as they are unexpected. But beware: on Halloween, anything can happen…

A movie directed by Elie Semoun and produced by Les Films du 24 and Les Films du Premier, in co-production with TF1 Films Production and Umedia, with the support of Wallimage.

“Ducobu et le fantôme de Saint-Potache” is scheduled to be released in theaters on October 7th, 2026.
