Two Umedia co-productions selected in the parallel section of the Venice International Film Festival
We are proud to announce that two Umedia co-productions have been selected in the parallel section of the Venice International Film Festival that will take place from September 2 to 12.
🔸”Il Mestiere” is selected in the “Venetians Nights” category of the Giornate degli autori.
Sauro Cantafame implants mechanical hearts in deceased oldsters, so their families can pretend they’re still alive and cash their pension checks. Solo in his Ape car, he drives through a lunar southern landscape, in a borderland between the real and the absurd and offers a ride to a fragile kid on the run. Sauro’s journey becomes a desperate mission to protect the boy from a local criminal deity and settle a painful debt with his own past.
A film directed by Beppe Tufarulo and produced by Mad Entertainment, Dude Frames and Art of Panic, in co-production with Rai Cinéma, Rosebud Pictures and Umedia.
🔸”Peau d’homme” is selected as the closing film of the Giornate degli autori.
In 1840, Princess Blanche prepares to marry a neighboring prince, but her father decides that she must marry Melchior, the chief of the army. Her godmother reveals to her that she has a mysterious "skin" and that, if she puts it on, it will allow her to become a man and meet her future husband incognito.
A film directed by Léa Domenach and produced by Kare Productions and Tresor Cinéma, in co-production with France 3 Cinéma and Umedia.
Congratulations to all the teams who worked on those projects! We are proud to see our co-productions presented on the international screen of the prestigious Venice International Film Festival.
