Two Umedia co-productions presented at the Locarno Film Festival

In August, during the 78th edition of the Locarno Film Festival, two Umedia co-productions will have their premieres.

In International Competition, Un ciel si bas by Joachim Michaux tells the story of the encounter between three romantic and lost characters in 1980s Brussels. A short film produced by Naoko Films and VeninFilms, in co-production with Le Bon Film and Umedia.

Previewing the film is The Dead of Winter, a thriller in which Emma Thompson plays a Minnesota fisherwoman who interrupts the kidnapping of a teenage girl. In a snowy desert, she quickly realizes that she is the young girl's only hope. Directed by Brian Kirk and produced by Stampede Ventures and augenschein Filmproduktion, in co-production with Leonine Studios, ZDF, and Umedia. In theaters on October 9.
