Umedia co-productions at the 2026 Cannes Film Festival

"Moulin", "L'Abandon", "Jim Queen : A la recherche de la Chloroqueer", selected for the Cannes Film Festival, and "Adieu monde cruel", closing the Critics' Week.


The official selections for the Cannes Film Festival and the Critics’ Week have finally been revealed, and we’re proud to see four of our co-productions included!

Three projects co-produced by Umedia have been selected in the official selection of the 79th edition of the Cannes Film Festival, and a fourth will close the Critics’ Week.

A closer look at these productions:

🔸 “Moulin”, directed by László Nemes, selected in the Official competition


This biopic about Jean Moulin, played by Gilles Lellouche, portrays the life of the French Resistance hero during World War II. A Pitchipoï Productions and Montmartre Films production, co-produced by Studio TF1 and Umedia.

🔸 “L’Abandon”, directed by Vincent Garenq, selected out of competition


A drama with Antoine Reinartz and Emmanuelle Bercot, focusing on the last eleven days of Samuel Paty, a history and geography teacher, murdered on October 16, 2020. A drama produced by Les Films du Kiosque and Outside Films Productions, in co-production with UGC, France 3 Cinéma and Umedia.

🔸 “Jim Queen : A la Recherche de la Chloroqueer”, directed by Marco Nguyen and Nicolas Athané will be presented in the Midnight Screening section


This animated movie follows Jim, a Parisian gay scene icon, confronted with “Heterosis”, a virus that turns gay men straight. A feature film produced by Bobbypills Studio, in co-production with Umedia and with the support of the regional fund Wallimage.

🔸 “Adieu monde cruel”, directed by Félix de Givry, closing film of the Critics' Week


Otto Vidal, 14 years old, disappears after having sent a farewell letter to his classmates, but one night, Léna, a girl from his high school, spots him wandering the streets of the city. An Iliade Productions and Remembers Productions production, in co-production with Umedia.
