Four Umedia co-productions selected at the Fiction Festival of La Rochelle

Let’s meet from September 15 to 20 at the Fiction Festival of La Rochelle – a major event dedicated to French fictions-series – to discover the new selection we are proud to be part of as a Belgian coproducer.

Indeed, four Umedia co-productions have been selected this year and the four short films realised for the Talents Adami Cinema will also be screened.

🔸 “Les Disparus des Argonnes” is selected in the “Compétition Française – Série 52’” category.

In 1981, Gilles Veyrades disappeared while serving in the military. Convinced that he had not deserted, his mother, Jocelyne (Alix Poisson), waged a relentless battle to uncover the truth. When other young soldiers began to disappear as well, she faced a wall of silence from the authorities. 

A series directed by Safy Nebbou and adapted from Julie Peyr’s novel, produced by Studio 14, in co-production with France Télévisions, Auvergne-Rhone-Alpes Cinéma and Umedia.

🔸 “Soeurs” is selected in the “Compétition Française – Série 52’” category.

Elodie et Elisabeth, completely opposed twins, exchanged their lives during a boring night. While she is in Elisabeth’s life, Elodie is murdered. Plagued with guilt and fear, Elisabeth decides to stay in her sister’s life to lead an inquiry and discovers unexpected things about both of them.

A series directed by Julie Rohart and produced by Bonne Pioche Story, in co-production with France Télévisions, Umedia and RTBF.

🔸” La Comtesse de Monte-Cristo" is selected in the “Fictions Évènements” category.

Mercedes (embodied by Audrey Fleurot) sees her future collapse when Edmond Dantès, the love of her life, is betrayed and locked in the castle of If. During an escape attempt, Edmond is killed and Mercedes locked in the castle. Following this tragic event, her only obsession becomes to avenge those who destroyed her life.

A series directed by Leonardo D’Antoni and Djibril Glissant and produced by Itinéraire Productions and Bahia Blanca, in co-production with TF1 and in association with Netflix, Umedia and OKKO Production.

🔸”Caméra Café : opération retraite” is selected in the “Projections Spéciales” category.

Because their auto-washing business has declined, Jean-Claude and Hervé, both 62, have only one obsession: to obtain a full pension to finish their lives under the sunshine. As they keep doing dirty blows, they are constrained to jump from job to job, meeting their old colleagues at the same time.

A series directed by Raphaël Lenglet and produced by Calt Production, in co-production with Umedia.

🔸The four short films realised for the Talents Adami Cinéma 2026 will also be presented before some screenings.

“Volontaire” directed by Louise Bourgoin with Veronika Vasilyeva-Rije, Antoine Pelletier et Paul Beaurepaire.
Circé loves Abel and lives with Vicent. But when she discovers she is pregnant, her illusions fade: Abel is not good enough and she doesn’t love Vincent anymore. However, a choice must be taken: to keep the children or to abort?

“Emoi” directed by Louise Coldefy with Milla Agid, Calixte Broisin Doutaz et Thomas Gioria.
Zoé joins Grégory at the lac, the perfect occasion to get closer to him. This was without considering Lucas, her best friend, who can’t leave her alone. How could she get rid of that dead weight?

"Bullshit” directed by Kevin Razy with Elisa Ezzedine, Salomé Scotto et Boubacar Kabo.
It’s 17:45 and after a tiring week Nejma is about to leave the office to welcome her little sister who is finally coming back from Canada. Sadly, her boss gives her a last-minute task: to reach the patents office before its closing … at 18:00.

Two stepsisters break into their deceased father's house to collect what they believe belongs to them, but they discover that his true desire is to repair the bonds he contributed to break.
